Remember

THE 10TH TRIENNIAL
FELZIEN FAMILY REUNION

Wasn't it nice?

We know some of you were in attendence.  For those who want to walk down memory lane, or for those who were not at the 10th reunion, we post this for you all:     The Felzien Family Reunion was hosted at the Holiday Inn at Kearney, Nebraska, on the weekend of June 22 thru noon of the 24th, by the Mildred Felzien-Ott Family:  Pat Ott Thorell, Jeff Bash (son of Donna Ott Bash), and Dallas and Virginia Ott.  Dallas and Pat are the grandchildren of Otto Henry Charlie and Susie Felzien.  Their Mother was Mildred Felzien and Ervin W. Ott      There were 90+ descendents of Felzien Brothers and sister Louise Einspahr. They were from Canada, Oregon, Texas, Kansas, Tennessee, Wyoming, Missouri, Colorado, Iowa and Nebraska. Sorry if we may have missed a state or two.

The luncheon gave way with a Saturday noon Buckboard Buffet of Ribs, Chicken and a nice assortment of side dishes were available.  The table prayer was given by Jerry Ott of Rural Holdrege, NE.   Also, a candlelight ceremony and reading was given for those family members that had passed in the last three years.

Prizes were given to Winifred (Kermit) Felzien of Minden, NE., for the oldest, to Charlotte and Irvin Felzien who came the farthrest from Canada, and to the youngest, who was Lisa Felzien's, of the Gus Felzien line.

Following the luncheon, the family held a group business meeting with Grand Master of Ceremonies, Leroy Felzien of Raytown, Missouri presiding.  Vonnie Murray reported what effort and success she has had thus far with the Felzien genealogy.  Dan Felzien gave information about the Felzien website.  LeRoy asked for a collection for the cost of initiating and maintaining the Felzien website.  For the next Reunion, LeRoy asked for another collection to enable the next reunion hosts to have a fund for the expenses for the reunion in 3 years in Bend, Oregon-hosted by the Gemaelichs.

After the meeting, the Otts had entertainment planned for all.  The Jerry Ott family - Pictured left-to-right in the photo, Aaron Ott (Piano; age 19), Joanna Ott (Violin; age 14), Leah Ott (Flute; age 16), and Mother Julie, entertained with music and songs.  Following, posing as three wacky news reporters, Bev Ott & Ginger Lambert of Austin, TX., and Jeff Bash of Orleans gave hilarious news commentaries about some of the those in the audience. Ginger is also a professional mime and storyteller and kept the children on the edge of their seats with her story of the little boy that wanted a dog and ended up with a fish.      The Archway Monument, Pioneer Village in Minden, and the Big Apple Fun Center were especially entertaining to those that attended. The Holiday Inn Waterpark was the highlight of the younger crowd.       On Sunday morning, a group attended the Zion Lutheran Church services south of Juniata, Nebraska in Adams County, Wanda Township. This church and cemetery is where the Felzien ancestors had attended and lived near in the past and is where some are burried.

Pat, Jeff, Dallas and Virgina hope that those who attended had a fun time and those that couldn't come this year will be able to go to Bend, Oregon in 2010. We'll be lookin' for ya!!
