GENEALOGY
...a little bit about our family and our history
Though still in its infancy, and perhaps not complete, each of
us can help in researching our Felzien Family ancestry. As of late, I know
that Vonnie has volunteered much of her time to this project started by LeRoy,
and we want to express our sincerest gratitude to them and all others that can
add to this project of bridging the gap back over the Atlantic Sea.
We greatly appreciate family stories that may have been
passed down to you. We currently use these stories to begin our research
into our genealogy. Verifying stories takes much time and effort, so if you
would like to share your stories with us (perhaps at the reunion, or sooner) or
even better, it would help tremendously if you can provide copies of
documentation (marriage licenses, birth or death records, immigration records,
etc.). We would appreciate having at least two copies of
authentic documents substantiating the history. However, that is not to
say that we don't want to know of your family stories; we will take whatever you
can provide us. Please take the
time to present them to our family during one of our family reunions.
Please write the information down so that others can get a copy of it when
interested. Again, thank you all for delving into the difficult task of
researching family history. It sounds easier than it is.
LeRoy's
great leap forward in starting at a look backwards into our history was when he
wrote the "Felzien Family Tree". He printed in May, 1983, and
began by using a number system. LeRoy continues to be the focal point of
many parts in our family, including caring for the changes and additions to the
tree. Please send any changes to him first by e-mail.
