Her first name is recorded as Johanna on her marriage record.1

In Mecklenburg during this time period the bride and groom had to get permission from their lord before they could get married.  Some were denied the right to get married.  While there is no way we can know for certain that Hanna and Carl were denied the right to marry, but  when looking at the church records it seems that this may have been a possibility.  Hanna bore two daughters out of wedlock, one in 1843 and the other in 1845.  It was recorded in the church book that Carl declared himself to be the father of both girls.  In 1847 Carl and Hanna were married.  I did not find record of any additional children born to Carl and Hanna after 1847.  Carl was from the neighboring village of Gross Daberkow and most likely the couple moved there after marrying.  The parish records for Gross Daberkow will need to be checked for additional children.
